About Us

CEEF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit foundation established at the recommendation of the State Superintendent’s Environmental Education Task Force Steering Committee in 2003 to encourage environmental education throughout the state of California.

CEEF envisions a day when all Californians are environmentally literate and aims to inspire young people to understand and care for the environment through the support of innovative environmental education programs and partnerships.

The highly successful CEEF Teacher Institutes have prepared scores of educators to facilitate student stewardship projects for thousands of 4th through 12th grade students. CEEF founder, Bill Andrews, also founded the Water Energy Education Alliance (WEEA) to promote the development of effective career pathways to the water and energy sectors for students who value public service and natural resources.
